the brave little toaster live action remake

Remakes of childhood shows and cartoons are generally hit or miss, and most of the misses are when you try to draw in a new crowd for a movie that is innately going to draw in the old crowd. I'll admit, the Speed Racer remake wasn't completely awful, I feel like it did a pretty decent job of paying tribute to the show despite a few little nigglings I had about. Just like that movie, it wreaks of direct-to-DVD. Just look at The Christmas Story 'sequel' (sequel is in quotations because if it's made almost 30 years later, but still takes place in the same period of time as the first, then it's not a sequel it's a waste of time). That, and with the mention of 'modernizing' the talking electronics in this movie, I doubt this will ever see a theatrical release. Now, I'm not knocking The Brave Little Toaster at all, I'm just commenting on the randomness of this endeavor. So, why this movie? You might as well make a CG remake of The Land Before Time at least that did well in the box office at its initial release. The Brave Little Toaster, arguably, wasn't too much of a household name while it garnered popularity, you'd probably still find people in their 20's who've never heard of it. Waterman Entertainment, the people behind the live-action adaptations of Casper, Stuart Little and Alvin and the Chipmunks, are planning a live-action reboot of The Brave Little Toaster. However, it does have to do with taking every single animated film imaginable, and remaking them in 3D to sell to children. So much fucked up shit.This really has nothing to do with TMNT, as a whole. The new furniture in the Master's new apartment. Toaster sacraficing himself to save Master. Master almost dying because of the horrid evil magnet. The whole sequence in the repair shack, including watching an appliance get murdered and torn apart in shadow. Lampy almost killing himself to charge up the battery. The way all the characters are kind of huge assholes and treat each other like shit. It if goddamn horrifying in parts and just really dark and dismal and hopeless in others and the bad guys are really BAD GUYS and it's just I -LOVED- this movie as a kid and I have many, many wonderful memories of watching it with my dad.Ī few months ago I got it in my head to watch it again.
